What is "Broadband"?
Broadband means, very simply, a high-speed connection to the Internet that is 'always on'.
It's called broadband because it has a much larger capacity to receive (and send) data than a standard 56k (or narrowband) connection. With Broadband, this means it's up to 10 times quicker than before to access things like: email, The Web, On-line pictures and Music.
Also, there is no waiting to establish the connection; and it no longer ties up your regular phone line.
The Current Situation:
The Broadband campaign went extremely well, the exchange will be "Ready For Service" on the 21st April 04.Information can be found via the links below relating to ISP's, Hardware and General Broadband Information.
